to wear or not to wear holiday colors on the holidays: that is the question

we've all seen it. how an attempt at adding a bit of "holiday" flair to an outfit can go oh so wrong. it starts innocently enough with color selection.

red and geen on gift giving day, orange and black on candy day, green and more green on drunks-take-to-the-streets day. before you know it, felt antlers are affixed to your head and someone kisses you because you're Irish? to avoid such public displays of unwanted affection, many have avoided certain colors for entire seasons.

to you i say, no more! wear the colors you want no matter the day. hint: accent your outfit with other colors, unless you're on the holiday promotor payroll. (do they have recession-proof jobs like that?)

this week's challenge: incorporate typical v-day colors--red, white, pink, purple--into an outfit that won't leave us wishing it were the 15th. send your best shot to aisha@a-skydesigns.com. submissions received by 18 february will be posted on www.a-skydesigns.com in the blog gallery.

Some people don't understant the concept of "doing too much" around the holidays...but it happens. Colors help represent certain days but you can still celebrate w/o looking like a pumpkin, leprachaun, or whatever. Hair, accessories, and attitude can say "Happy 'whatever' Day" just as easy..Guess I can throw away my application for holiday promoters assistant...
