
vintage clothing should, by definition, 'represent the high quality of past fashion'.
in practice though, that often translates into 'a visual representation of an era in fashion we'd rather forget because the wearer has gotten TOO vintage-y on us'.
and as a result, the following words spring to mind:
dated.
tired.
mothballs.
Denny's seniors breakfast special.
the key to not looking reminiscent of the above?
use 'vintage' pieces sparingly.
in other words, combine the former with the now and you just might inspire fashion's future.
